“Existentialism wrapped in beautiful harmonies and an acoustic guitar”
Emily Cushing, for Rising Artists
Charlie Weathersby first started making music as a teenager, using their grandma’s piano and dad’s acoustic guitar as a journal for their inner-most thoughts. Growing up in a conservative town in Louisiana, much of their identity had to be kept secret. Songwriting allowed Charlie to be their true self behind closed doors.
Once Charlie turned 18, they released their first two songs: “Already Home” and “What Are You Waiting For?”. They took a break during college, but returned to the music scene in 2021 with their EP “Chapters”. “Chapters” was Charlie’s first foray into pop music production and began the ambient pop element that continues into their work today.
Charlie Weathersby, now 23, released their debut full-length album “In the Light of Dawn” on March 11th, 2022. A meld of indie pop and indie folk, “In the Light of Dawn” showcases their growth and evolution as an artist. The two singles from this album, “When I Dream About Dying” and “Dance in Lights” , are currently their most popular songs on Spotify.
